Little Raven Trail Projects
BMA had our fourth major trail work project on the Little Raven Trail near Brainard Lake in the last 2 years on August 4.
We have transformed this ski corridor into a multi-use trail that will last for decades.
- We started and finished a total of six bog bridges (a total of 144 linear feet, 12 inches wide) this year.
- We also completed a tread through a very challenging rock garden.
- Finally, we continued armoring and improving stream crossings and wet trail sections.
A special shout out for all the volunteers that made this project a reality. Some photos of the work can be found at Little Raven Trail Work 2007.
Special thanks goes out to....
- REI for buying lunch for the volunteers
- Oskar Blues for providing the beer
- Clif Bars for kicking in some bars
- Performance for some schwag
- and most of all the Forest Service for saying yes to this ambitious project!
Next year we are looking at rerouting the South St Vrain Trail to get it out of wilderness and building a bridge for the Little Raven!
